Today in church, I overheard someone say:

I don’t care if he’s a nice guy; is he a Christian?

Can you give any information on the context? That affects the meaning. Maybe a 16 year old girl whose parents will only let her date Christians and whose priority is looks over niceness?

No. An unrecognized woman’s voice caught my ear as I dashed through the foyer.

I prefer to assume she was referring to one of our elders.

I have to say that I pooh-poohed CJ’s need for context when I read his comment yesterday.

Then, as I left the school building, I read the words “I forgive you”… spray-painted on a car. Eeek!

Being a nice guy has nothing to do with being a Christian.
Judging wether or not someone is a nice guy by equating it to being a Christian is nothing more than bigotry !!!
