Disable Google Autofill

Sometimes the Google Toolbar’s autofill feature is overzealous. It is ready to fill-in fields with your name and email address when those fields should never contain your own data. For example, on a page where a administrator is editing users, the administrator does not want his own information entered into that page. To prevent the yellow highlight indicative of an AutoFill ready to operate, try the following:

  1. Change the name of the input element to something Google is unlikely to match.
  2. Split any labels with comments. For example, “Email” should be “Em<!–prevent autofill–>ail”
