Ubuntu laptop screen resolution
When I install Ubuntu 6.06 LTS on my laptop, it uses only a box in the middle of the monitor. I fixed this by editing xorg.conf and adding HorizSync and VertRefresh option to the Monitor section. This thread seemed to have a similar issue.
