SquareTrade Settlement
I just received an email for the SquareTrade settlement:
Dear SquareTrade customer,
You are receiving this email because you purchased a SquareTrade Protection Plan on Amazon between April 20, 2012 and October 8, 2018 and are eligible for a Settlement Coupon. This coupon entitles you to a $10 discount on a SquareTrade smartphone protection plan.
Like most of the class action settlements I’ve seen recently, this is a joke. This will actually make money for SquareTrade. The lawyers got a big payday, the defendant is probably breaking even, and the consumers have the illusion of victory.
