Tomcat is ignoring log4j.properties

I thought tomcat was ignoring my log4j.properties until I realized that I wasn’t actually deploying the log4j jar. I had to close and reopen MyEclipse and undeploy and deploy the web app to get it out there.

Also, I learned that log4j.xml is not automatically detected in the classpath. Use log4j.properties.
